All event times on the Lotro Artists calendar are given in the so-called /servertime. That’s the time the server you are playing on uses and the server will tell you it’s time when you enter /servertime into the chat log as a command.
Currently servertime is US Eastern time (EST) and since all LOTRO servers use this timezone this is a good reference for all LOTRO players all over the world.
Depending on the timezone you are in there is an offset from your local time to /servertime which you have to take into account to calculate the time of an event in your local timezone.
Find out which timezone you are in. Here are a few most common examples:
If you are located on the US west coast you will most likely live in the PST (Pacific Standard Time) timezone and you will have to subtract 3 hours from the event’s given time.
If you are located in the UK you are located in the GMT timezone and you will have to add 5 hours to the event’s given time.
If you are located in the rest of Europe you are most likely located in the GMT +1 timezone and you must add 6 hours to the event’s given time.
Here is a handy link to the Wikipedia article about timezones.
And here are some examples of an actual event that starts at 3pm /servertime and it’s times in the different timezones:
US Eastern (EST) : Event time = 3pm. The event starts at 3pm your time.
US Pacific (PST): Event time = 3pm – 3 hours. The event starts at 12pm (noon) your time.
UK: Event time = 3pm + 5 hours. The event starts at 8pm your time.
Europe: Event time = 3pm + 6 hours. The event starts at 9pm your time.
